Welcome to MatthewSchueren.com (the "Site"), the personal website of Matt Schueren (Matthew Schueren). These Terms and the privacy notice below also cover mattschueren.com and www.mattschueren.com, which redirect to the canonical website at https://matthewschueren.com. These redirect domains are not separate websites or services.

This is my personal website. I use it to share things I am thinking about, learning about, building, researching, monitoring, experimenting with, interested in, or working toward. Content may include personal writing, investment and market research, software projects, automated systems, artificial intelligence, prediction markets, insurance, real estate, social-media trends, consumer products, travel, personal interests, goals, opinions, photographs, maps, recommendations, and other topics.

The Site is intended primarily as a personal, informational, educational, experimental, and entertainment-oriented space.

6. Automated Investment Signals, Bots, Models & AI

The Site may display or discuss information generated or assisted by software, algorithms, artificial intelligence, automated monitoring systems, quantitative models, bots, APIs, machine-learning systems, third-party data sources, or other experimental technologies.

This may include:

Automated systems can be wrong.

They may rely upon inaccurate, incomplete, delayed, stale, incorrectly interpreted, incorrectly matched, or unavailable information. Software bugs, API failures, connectivity issues, data-quality problems, model errors, hallucinations, incorrect assumptions, or other failures may produce inaccurate or misleading results.

No representation or warranty is made regarding the accuracy, completeness, reliability, timeliness, profitability, or future performance of any automated output.

Never make a consequential financial decision solely because an automated system displayed a signal, prediction, score, or alert on the Site.

7. Prediction Markets, Event Contracts, Gambling & Wagering

The Site may contain personal research, commentary, analysis, projects, software, automated monitoring, probability estimates, signals, alerts, strategies, or other information concerning prediction markets, event contracts, sports, elections, economic events, political events, gambling, wagering, or other future outcomes.

Such content is provided solely for personal, informational, educational, experimental, and entertainment purposes.

Nothing on the Site constitutes a recommendation, solicitation, instruction, inducement, or encouragement to enter into any wager, prediction-market position, event contract, or similar transaction.

Probabilities, signals, model outputs, suggested outcomes, research conclusions, or references to potential positions should not be interpreted as representations that an outcome will occur or that a transaction is expected to be profitable.

Prediction markets, event contracts, gambling, and wagering involve substantial risk. A position may lose some or all of the amount committed.

These systems may incorrectly estimate probabilities, misunderstand information, miss relevant information, rely upon outdated information, misinterpret market rules, experience technical failures, or otherwise produce incorrect results.

No automated output constitutes a guarantee, trading instruction, or recommendation.

Nothing on the Site is intended to authorize, encourage, or facilitate fraud, manipulation, insider trading, misuse of confidential or material nonpublic information, improperly obtained information, circumvention of applicable rules, or other prohibited conduct.

Anyone using a third-party platform is responsible for complying with that platform's terms and applicable laws.

The Site may contain personal research, commentary, ideas, projects, models, or educational material concerning insurance, underwriting, actuarial science, risk management, claims, insurance markets, insurance technology, artificial intelligence, coverage, or related subjects.

Nothing on the Site constitutes insurance, actuarial, risk-management, legal, brokerage, or coverage advice.

Nothing constitutes an insurance quote, binder, coverage determination, policy interpretation, recommendation to purchase or decline insurance, representation of insurability, or representation concerning whether any particular policy will provide coverage for any particular event.

The Site may contain social-media metrics, trend analysis, engagement information, popularity estimates, automated monitoring, predictions, or observations concerning social platforms, creators, topics, or content.

Such information is informational and experimental.

Third-party platforms may change their algorithms, APIs, policies, data availability, metrics, or functionality at any time.

Consequently, social-media information appearing on the Site may be incomplete, delayed, estimated, inaccurate, or unavailable.

The Site may contain information about my personal life, experiences, interests, travels, possessions, goals, opinions, preferences, routines, favorite places, photographs, projects, aspirations, or future plans.

This information is shared voluntarily as part of a personal website.

Personal goals, vision boards, wish lists, plans, projections, maps, or similar content represent interests, aspirations, or circumstances at the time they are published.

They should not be interpreted as promises, commitments, representations of financial condition or net worth, guarantees of future conduct, statements of current circumstances, or invitations for commercial contact.

Plans and goals change.

The Site may identify coffee shops, restaurants, businesses, destinations, neighborhoods, hotels, stores, or other locations that I personally enjoy, have visited, want to visit, or find interesting.

Their inclusion reflects personal preference or interest.

Any alert, notification, signal, monitoring system, watchlist, or automated research functionality appearing on or discussed through the Site is provided without any guarantee of delivery, accuracy, timeliness, completeness, or continued availability.

An alert may:

• arrive late
• arrive incorrectly
• contain inaccurate information
• be duplicated
• fail to arrive; or
• cease functioning entirely

The absence of an alert does not mean an event did not occur.

You should not rely upon the Site as your sole means of monitoring any investment, financial market, prediction market, product release, property, social-media trend, security issue, legal development, or other event.

22. No Duty to Update

Except where required by applicable law, publication of information does not create a continuing obligation to monitor, update, supplement, or notify readers regarding subsequent developments. This does not excuse misleading statements or override any legal duty to correct information.

An opinion, prediction, position, probability estimate, model output, project status, goal, plan, price, or other statement may cease to reflect my current views or circumstances immediately after publication.

Always consider the publication or update date when evaluating content.

Any reliance upon information appearing on the Site is at your own risk.

Nothing on the Site, including any information, research, software, automation, project, or tool, is intended to facilitate or encourage unlawful or prohibited activity.

26. Age, Eligibility & Jurisdiction

Certain subjects discussed on the Site—including investments, securities, cryptocurrencies, prediction markets, event contracts, gambling, and other regulated activities—may be subject to age, residency, jurisdictional, accreditation, financial, or other eligibility requirements.

The presence of information concerning an activity does not represent that the activity is lawful, available, or appropriate for you.

You are responsible for understanding and complying with laws, regulations, restrictions, platform rules, and eligibility requirements applicable to you.

27. Accuracy; No Warranties

I may make reasonable efforts to provide useful or interesting information, but I do not guarantee that anything on the Site is accurate, complete, current, reliable, error-free, secure, or suitable for any particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Site and all content, software, projects, information, alerts, models, signals, and functionality are provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE," without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

I disclaim, to the fullest extent permitted by law, warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, availability, and any warranties arising from course of dealing or usage.

28. Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that many subjects discussed on the Site—including investing, trading, prediction markets, real estate, technology, artificial intelligence, automated systems, and experimental software—involve uncertainty and risk.

You voluntarily assume the risks associated with your use of the Site and any independent actions you choose to take after viewing its content.

You remain solely responsible for your decisions.

29. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, I will not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or other damages or losses arising from or relating to your access to, use of, inability to use, or reliance upon the Site or any information, content, project, software, signal, alert, prediction, model, link, or third-party service referenced through it.

This includes, without limitation:

• investment or trading losses
• losses involving event contracts, wagers, or prediction markets
• lost profits
• lost opportunities
• loss of data
• business interruption
• purchasing decisions
• property-related losses
• reliance upon incorrect information
• failure or delay of an alert or automated system; and
• actions taken in reliance upon content appearing on the Site

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

30. Indemnification

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, you agree to indemnify and hold me harmless from claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and reasonable costs arising from your misuse of the Site, violation of these Terms, violation of applicable law, or infringement of the rights of another person or entity.

31. Intellectual Property

Unless otherwise indicated, original text, software, designs, graphics, research, photographs, and other original material created for the Site are owned by me or used with permission.

Third-party trademarks, copyrighted works, data, images, logos, brand names, and other intellectual property remain the property of their respective owners.

Reference to or display of third-party intellectual property does not constitute a claim of ownership.

Nothing in these Terms grants you a license to reproduce, distribute, commercially exploit, or create derivative works from original Site content except as permitted by applicable law or with permission.

32. Security & Availability

No website, software system, API, artificial-intelligence service, or internet transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure or continuously available.

I do not guarantee that the Site will be uninterrupted or free from vulnerabilities, malicious code, unauthorized access, technical failures, data loss, or other security incidents.

You access and use the Site at your own risk to the extent permitted by applicable law.

33. Changes, Suspension & Discontinuation

I may add, remove, modify, restrict, suspend, or discontinue any content, project, feature, tool, page, alert, service, or portion of the Site at any time and without notice.

Nothing in these Terms requires me to continue publishing any particular content or maintaining any project, software, monitoring system, or functionality.

34. Changes to These Terms

I may revise these Terms from time to time.

The updated version becomes effective when posted to the Site unless otherwise indicated.

The "Last Updated" date at the beginning of these Terms identifies the most recent revision.

Continued use of the Site after revised Terms become effective constitutes acceptance of those Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

35. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is determined to be invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that provision will be interpreted or limited to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect to the fullest extent permitted by law.

36. No Waiver

Failure to enforce any provision of these Terms does not constitute a waiver of that provision or any other right.

37. Governing Law

To the extent permitted by applicable law, these Terms and disputes arising from or relating to the Site will be governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles.

39. Privacy Notice: Location Globe, Browser Storage & Hosting

This notice describes the Site's current features. Privacy questions or requests to review, correct, or delete information you have provided may be sent to Matt Schueren using the social-profile contact links on the Site's About page. Please do not send sensitive personal information through public comments or social messages.

Approximate location on the homepage: when the homepage loads with JavaScript enabled, the globe requests an approximate network location from a Site endpoint. Cloudflare derives location information from the network connection associated with your IP address. The endpoint returns a city or region and country label, plus latitude and longitude rounded to whole degrees. This is used to place the “You” pin and connect it visually with San Francisco in your browser.

This feature does not request GPS or browser location permission. Its estimate can be wrong, especially with VPNs, mobile networks, proxies, or corporate internet connections. The Matt pin is a fixed San Francisco reference, not live tracking of my whereabouts. Neither pin is suitable for navigation, locating a person, or establishing where someone actually is.

The globe code keeps your location result temporarily in the current page's memory. It does not write that result to a visitor-history database, browser storage, or an application log, and does not publish your pin to other visitors. The endpoint does not return your IP address and instructs browsers and caches not to store its response. These limits describe the globe feature, not all processing or logging by the hosting infrastructure.

Simulated worldwide pins: the “Around the world” globe uses a preset, illustrative set of locations. It is a simulation, not a record of recent or live visitors, actual audience locations, visitor counts, or proof that anyone visited from those places. It is not populated from the location requests described above.

The Sun, Moon, lighting, and connection graphics are visualizations based on calculations and display choices. Sizes, distances, timing, and positions may be simplified or approximate; they are not scientific, navigational, or safety-critical tools.

Hosting and security: Cloudflare delivers and protects the Site, including the redirect domains. Network requests necessarily expose information such as IP addresses, requested URLs, and request headers to the infrastructure handling them. Cloudflare may process technical request information and retain operational or security records under its service settings and policies. The absence of a globe visitor database does not mean that visiting the Site is anonymous or that no provider logs exist.

Browser storage: the Site uses local storage to remember theme and desktop-view preferences, and session storage to remember acceptance of the financial disclaimer during a browser session. These settings are not a visitor-history system. You can remove them through your browser's site-data controls; doing so resets the relevant preferences or acknowledgment. Pausing the animation pauses visual motion and does not prevent the location request or ordinary hosting processing.

The current application code does not include advertising trackers or a cross-site behavioral advertising system, and does not sell the globe location result. It does not change its behavior in response to a browser Do Not Track signal. Hosting features and third-party services operate under their own configurations and policies; this notice does not promise that all third-party processing is absent.

External links and resources: following a social-profile or other external link sends you to another provider. Where a page loads an external resource, such as a map tile, that provider receives the request and associated network information. Messages you send through social platforms are handled by those platforms and may remain in the corresponding conversation. Their privacy policies and controls apply to their own processing.

Retention and choices: there is no stored globe visitor history for me to retrieve or erase. Browser preferences remain until removed or replaced; the disclaimer acknowledgment follows the browser's session-storage lifecycle. Hosting records and third-party messages have their own retention practices. Contact me through the About page's profile links with questions or requests concerning information you supplied; applicable legal rights are not waived by these Terms. Do not send identity documents unless a necessary, appropriate verification process has been explained to you.

Changes to privacy practices will be reflected in this notice and its Last Updated date. Any notice or consent required by applicable law must be provided before using information in a way that requires it; continued browsing is not a substitute for legally required consent.
